Grounded!

This little Western Screech owl fledgling has just taken its maiden flight… and ended up on the ground.  It is surprised… and not at all happy about the situation.  But Mom and Dad will care for it until it can get back off the ground under its own power, and it will be just fine. At this stage, they have their flight feathers and tail feathers but they aren’t well developed and basically the little owls are just cute little gray fuzzballs.
